christianity

Christianity is monotheistic religion which worships one patriachal all-powerful God. The Holy Book of Christianity is the Bible, from the greek word Biblios, which translates to 'Book', although technically the Bible is not one book but indeed 66 books.

There are many different denominations of Christianity, and it is incredibly hard to estimate how many Christians there are in the United States because there is no common belief on what defines a Christian. The most liberal view of everyone who says they are a Christian being a Christian would place the figure around 75%, whereas the considerably more conservative belief that anyone outside your own denomination is not a Christian can place the figure as low as 0.1%.

Denominations sprout from the original idea of Christianity because some phrases from the bible contridict each other, and thus to harmonise this people say phrase A is literal whereas phrase B is symbolic. However, one group might say A is symbolic, but another might say B is symbolic. Thus, there are now hundreds of different denominations preaching slightly different versions of effectively the same source material.

Unfortunately, as Christianity is the 'big' religion of the Western World, it gets a lot of negative press. However, like all groups, Christianity has the best and worst among their number. The Christians who get the most press are the ones who give the stereotypical image of never doing anything wrong, and sitting on streets shout 'REPENT OR GO TO HELL', or something similarly pleasant.

However, many Christians - most, in fact - are decent people who just want the right to practice their own religion, like everyone else (or the right to NOT practice a religion, in the case of some).
Christians believe in a single, patriachal god.

Christiany

Prudish, straitlaced, unfun. Ruining the fun in the name of the Lord. See Mormony
I offered him a beer and he lectured me about Jesus. He's being so christiany.

Christianity

A religion that would have made sense had it not been for the nature and character of its followers.
Some of the most violent wars and genocides during the last 2000+ years can be blamed on the spread of Christianity.

christianese

A communicable language within the Christian subculture with words and phrases created, redefined, and / or patened that applies only to the Christian sphere of influence.
So, I took this girl out and she started asking me if I was saved and she was all into Jesus and the bitch was speaking Christianese

Christianese: "The Lord works in mysterious ways."

Translation: "I'm totally clueless."

Christianese

Christianese is the language spoken by Christians. It makes no sense to anyone unfamiliar with biblical texts, but earns you major points in the eyes of other Christians, because it means your words are hella holy.

Common examples include: old man/new man, unblemished lamb, fruit of the spirit, washed in the blood, and let's not forget the ever popular born again.
Christian: Brother, I felt like I was really backsliding, so I crucified my old man and put on my new man, and now the fruit of the spirit is evident in my life!
Non-Christian: What the hell did you just say? You speakin' Christianese?

Post-Gothic Christianity

post-gothic christianity is a multicultural, all inclusive, especially considering black christian traditions in north america, philosophical construction of christianity that is especially uniquely artistic and individual in scope. Occasionally artists who are post-gothic as christians will include christianity as part of their artistic ouevre, and within this ouevre they have developed the history and culture of post-gothic christianity.
Post-Gothic Christianity is not necessarily theological, it is oftentimes ironic in scope, political in purpose, and it is completed by it’s flaws, including the flawed contributor to the post-gothic christian purpose. Post-Gothic Christianity is prominent especially for questioning the white supremacy of all historical christian traditions, and the “Arian” beginnings of the Christian Church, in Rome, namely Gothic.

Contemporary Romans by and large are more accepting of Post-Gothic Christianity, on the whole, than they are of Gothic Christianity.

One Post-Gothic Christian alive and producing theology today is Kanye West, a black billionaire who is both a musician and an entrepreneur.
man, you would be better off listening to post-gothic christianity stuff if you're trying to question your christian background.

Christianity

A religion that follows primarily the teachings of Jesus Christ and the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Christianity has warped over the years. One perfect example is Mark 16:15. Because of this verse, many modern-day "Christians" take it upon themselves to go door-to-door and convert people to their religion. Real Christians, however, don't try to force their religion upon others, as they try to be more Jesus-like, and Jesus never forced his religion upon others; People followed him willfully.
Due to Mark 16:15, many a man believes that Christianity is made up of nothing more than some door-a-knockin' hooligans who only want to bother you while you watch Magnum P.I. to spread "the good news".
