The act of asking someone to do something repeatedly, and therefore annoying them greatly.

"Hey, come to _____'s party?"

"Nah, I don't want to."

"Seriously, just come along, it'll be fun."

"No, I've got better things to do."

"Awh, comon' it won't be that late, it's only till 12."

"NO, fucking stop badgering me."

Buttering the Cat

In the disability rights community: attempting to help someone without asking if they need help, or in a way that is not actually helpful (and indeed may be harmful to the disabled person or to others).

Comes from a viral Twitter thread featuring Jorts the orange cat who was having trouble grooming himself. A well meaning but clueless human buttered Jorts in an attempt to teach him how to groom himself. This may or may not have resulted in a different cat being sick from licking the butter off of Jorts.

"Hey, don't just grab my chair; that's buttering the cat!"

Buffering

Buffering refers to that period of time that you lost previous to when you suddenly become aware you are now not doing anything. This is your brain trying to load normal function and cognition whilst enhanced or debilitated by mind altering drugs. The time you were buffering will be unbeknown to the bufferer and they will then continue with a new task or indeed the original task.

Guys what was i doing? I seem to have been buffering...I'll rack up the next line then!
