A failed party with some outrageous ideas that can't get enough votes, so they kiss up to whoever is in power and enlist a (much) younger generation as their advocates. Instead of focusing on bringing ideas to the parliament table , they rally (usually against petty things), protest, rant, hold up traffic and public transport, use shaming tactics and insults, hassle random passerbys to sign petitions for on the spot "causes" and try to enforce their agenda on to others.
The Australian Greens stood in the supermarket protesting about milk.
Person 1: "There's a greens protest on at the library this week".
Person 2: "Nothing new there, they were protesting there yesterday, and the day before"

Get the Australian mug.Not a blowjob. Not at all. It's like a French kiss, but "down under." The entire point of the word is that it's a euphemism for cunnilingus, not fellatio.
Did you see that they used "Australian kiss" as a word during the "Cunning Linguistics" game on On The Spot?
No I didn't. I DID, however, see that they used "an Australian kiss." It sucks that some idiot submitted THE WRONG DEFINITION under a slightly different name, seeing as how the name of the game is a pun on the word "cunnilingus."

Western Australia :
The Emu Wars , aka the Great Emu war
In 1932 to address public concern over the number of emus said to be destroying crops in the Campion district within the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. The unsuccessful attempts to curb the population of emus, a large flightless bird indigenous to Australia, employed Royal Australian Artillery soldiers armed with machine guns , rifles & jeeps leading the media to adopt the name "Emu War" when referring to the incident. While a number of the birds were killed, the emu population persisted & continued to cause crop destruction.
By December 1932, word of the Emu War had spread, reaching the UK. Some conservationists there protested the cull as "extermination of the rare emu".Dominic Serventy & Hubert Whittell, the eminent Australian ornithologists, described the "war" as "an attempt at the mass destruction of the birds".
Throughout 1930s onward, exclusion barrier fencing became a popular means of keeping emus out of agricultural areas (in addition to other vermin, such as dingoes & rabbits).
It lasted from 2 November ,1932 – 10 December, 1932
(1 month, 1 week and 1 day)
Long story short the Emu birds won.
