Yom Apu

"Yom Apu is the Israeli-Hungarian version of the American Hallmark holiday called Father's day. It falls on the Monday following Father's Day. Father's Day is a ritualistic holiday, founded by Hallmark for the purpose of making money. It is characterized by buying lame presents for your father (that are soon forgotten about) as well as life long guilt trips for forgetting about the holiday. Yom Apu is different. Like most other Israeli holidays, it is more sincere and genuine. (Kind of like Yom Hazikaron versus Memorial Day.) When a child wishes his/her father a Happy Yom Apu, s/he really means to say, "You're the greatest Apu ever and I'm going to spend all day commemorating that." Apus are to take the day to rest or play golf with other apus. Although Yom Apu is not a widely celebrated holiday, it is very important to its observers...Kind of like the holiday of Festivus."

I forgot about Father's Day, but remembered Yom Apu!

YOM

YOM is used mainly to express satisfaction, like in good food, and is similar to the word yum, but prounounced yawm, instead of yuhm. It also can be used to indicate anything that you are thinking about or anything that may interest you.

It originated with an asian male who ate burgers and said 'yom' to express the goodness of the burger, but then went on to point out things with using it. The proper format is to say 'YOM', then whatever else you may be thinking of. It is best to keep whatever you wish to say after YOM to a maximum of three words to keep the phrase smooth and not awkward.

Example 1

Girl 1: Look at that guy and girl over there making out!

Guy 1: YOM intimacy.

Example 2

Guy 1: How's that burger?

Guy 2: YOM.

Yom

Yom is a usually known to people as a female name, coming from a black descent. In this case the name ‘Yom’, is often described as a beautiful tall women who eats lots of foods but it is never indicated through her body. She is mostly introvert around people she is not yet used to or just met. However, when she is around friends it’s another story. She is what you call organised but at times her work can fall out of place causing her up-tight personality. When you first meet her you may view her as extremely quiet and however, as you begin to understand her you’ll begin to realised she is not shy but she is only ever quiet. Overall Yoms’ are viewed as a pretty, funny females with a bright future ahead of themselves.
