A phrase used to poke fun at those who adhere to the Black Egyptian Hypothesis, an often disputed theory which postulates that Ancient Egypt was a Black civilization and that some of the most notable royal figures from the Dynastic era were of African ethnicity.

flame shield

A fictional item. The term is sometimes used humorously on message boards when a user has just posted something (usually controversial) that runs the risk of instigating an argument/backlash, i.e. being flamed.

The purpose of the shield is therefore to 'protect' the person from any potential flames that may fly their way.

Person A: Lol final fantasy x sucks
Person B: ...I hope you brought your flame shield.

Person C: I honestly don't see why so many people like (insert popular game). IMO it has a tedious battle system, the difficulty is too easy, and the story is as clichéd as hell. Discuss. *holds up flame shield*

Community Shield

An event in football (soccer) in the English Premier League where the teams who finished first and second respectively the year prior play each other for a trophy called the Community Shield. This normally takes place one week before the league itself starts.

Chelsea and Manchested United both finished in the top two again this season and will play each other for the community shield at Wembley Stadium tommorow.
