To fall down a very, VERY steep staircase (also known as a ladder), ideally landing hard on your tail bone. Named after Absecon, New Jersey, home of the world's steepest and most dangerous staircases.

On Monday morning, I slipped and took an Absecon sleighride down the stairs.

Nantucket Sleighride

A "Nantucket Sleighride" was the result of harpooning a whale. The ship subsequently was dragged behind the whale by a line running from the harpoon to the ship. The Nantucket Sleighride would continue until the whale died, the line broke, or the ship sank.

After harpooning the whale, the good ship "Alabaster" was taken on a Nantucket Sleighride for nearly an hour.

Baltimore sleigh ride

A police tactic for meting out street justice to uncooperative suspects whereby the subject is shackled, but not seat belted, in a paddy wagon. The van is then driven wildly to throw the subject violently against the walls of the van.

The guy was mouthing off to me. I had to give him a Baltimore sleigh ride.
