Shit ON DEREK (specific name not important)

During an initiation into a group the newcomer either; a.Verbally owns a member of the group, (Derek), or

B. Disrespects, humiliates, or inconveniences, a group member, (Derek) in a humorous way), thus proving their worth in said group.

1. The Derek can be, but is not always, the newest member of the group.

2. The Derek must be thick-skinned enough to shrug off insult, or his status in the group will be instantly called into question.

3.The Derek is typically a very calm patient person, who while irritated, finds humor in the unfortunate circumstance

Example 1;
Derek: Hi my name is Derek
Girl: No, I wont fuck you'

(Group laugh)

Friend: She SOD'd, that was so cold, (to girl), your totally in.

Example 2.

Derek: I called dibs on the couch.

Derek then walks outside for a cigarette.

Friend: Who wants the couch?

Derek returns to find someone passed out the couch.

Derek: What is it Shit on Derek Day?

Friend from background: SOD bonus.

Derek sleeps on the frigid cold floor.

Derek: WTF?
