Office Space Syndrome

Suddenly and inexplicably not giving a fuck at work and life in general. Often caused be completing a huge project or being blasted by a superior. A reference to the 1999 Mike Judge comedy 'Office Space', in which case the cause was hypnosis.

Employee 1: "Now that the Milkowski case is over, I have the best case of Office Space Syndrome. Let's grab a Beer."
Employee 2: "It's 9am."
Employee 1: "DGAF Nation!"
Employee 2: "Fuck it, I'm in."

Office Space'd

Verb - Passive Tense

(Note: The active tense version of this is simply Office Space)

Used when someone destroys a piece of (usually outdated) technology for reasons of utter frustrations of trying to get said piece of technology to work.

Made famous in the movie Office Space where three main characters from the movie take their printer, which would constantly display "paper jam" when none could be found, constantly roll paper back and forth between rollers, and display the infamous command PC LOAD LETTER, into an empty field and proceeded to break said printer to pieces with baseball bats.

That scanner was nothing but trouble, so I want and Office Space'd it.

Office Space Syndrome

A condition which occurs primarily in white collar corporate environments where deserving, qualified employees are either passed over for promotion or have their employment terminated outright while their comparatively apathetic or indifferent peers achieve financial and/or occupational success.

Peter is frequently tardy or absent from work while Michael and Samir are punctual, reliable workers. Peter is promoted, but Michael and Samir are fired in order to cut costs. Peter has been the beneficiary of Office Space Syndrome while Michael and Samir were the victims of it.

Office Space Invader

Anyone at work who has no respect for your office space, usually a co-worker, who will "invade" your cubicle or any other office space without permission to "borrow" office supplies that they themselves have run out of, or they just want to snoop and say that they're looking for something that they've lost.

Joni: Hmmm, Troy isn't in his cubicle, let me see what he's up to so I can report it and feel like i'm doing something important.

Troy: "Excuse me, can I help you?"

Joni: "Oh, Troy, I didn't see you there." "I was just looking for something"

Troy: "Well, did you find it?"

Joni: "Ummm, no, I guess it isn't here." "It must be someplace else, see you later."

Troy: "That Joni is such an office space invader!"

'office space' syndrome is self-exonoration from social and/or work-related obligations arising from a increasingly disaffective attitude towards society, results from a change of plans after one wakes up, suddenly enlightened.

If you wake up one day and decide to quit your job and move to California to surf every day, you have 'office space' syndrome.
