Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia

A disease that can be proved by brain scan, for lesions in brain caused by inflammation. Including a survey of a group of people with a Fibromyalgia, there are specific points of pain common in everyone with Fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia causes a myriad of problems ( which causes many people to accuse them of being a hypochondriac) widespread pain, inflammation, irritable bowel, debilitating fatigue, also joint, tendon and muscle problems and tightness, nerve issues, hypersensitivity, anxiety, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism ....etc

Many patients also say they have good and bad days. Good days they can accomplish more, bad days can be a range of severe joint and body pain, to needing to be on bed rest. Many will need to go on disability for being unable to keep up with their lives due to severe fatigue and pain.

Life altering changes are needed to get some relief for most. For some certain clothes hurt, others can't even be slightly touched. It will change every aspect of someones life. From a ballerina that can't dance anymore, to a banker that can't balance their own checkbook from fibro-fog. ( fibro fog can vary from no recall of what you were about to say to not being able to remember what you studied. It comes and goes)

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia isn’t a joke and doesn’t belong on this site.

It is a condition that affects the brain & nerves throughout the body. It is a relatively new condition, first recognized in the 1990’s. Initially it was largely considered as something popular to have and sufferers either faking it or hypochondriacs.

Now it is recognized as a serious problem for many people. If more information is desired, please check medical sites such as the Centers for Disease Control website.
All of my random medical conditions, (severe nerve pain- bulging discs/back pain, idiopathic nerve pain in my feet & ankles, tightening pain in trapezius that causes muscle tension headaches, hand tremors, fatigue that feels like I have a bad flu most days, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Insomnia, TMJ, lung problems- 2 lung diseases, vertigo, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, brain fog & sugar cravings,) are all symptoms of fibromyalgia.

-For being a hypochondriac?
-Hypochondriac? Hell, doesn't she have Munchausen syndrome?
-The ICD says it's a legitimate disease now.
-What do they know? They haven't had to work or live with her. I'm the one who should get a diagnosis of Jenniferitis.

Fibromyalgia

A name of a group of symptoms that masquerades semantically as a cause but isn't. A meaningless diagnosis of exclusion when doctors give up on finding the cause of their patients' neurological symptoms. Often goes hand in hand with gaslighting the patient and telling them the symptoms are psychosomatic.
The doctor told me my weird leg pain was just fibromyalgia and to get on with my life, but really I know it's probably due to intermittent spinal cord compression.
