One of the main characters from the cartoon Invader Zim. Dib is a young boy who dreams of being a paranormal investigator when he grows up, even though his father, a world-famous scientist, wants him to study 'real science'. When the alien Zim appears at his school with plans for world domination, Dib is often the only one who can stop him. Unfortunately, no one else realizes that Zim is an alien, so they all think that Dib is insane.
"Yeah, what's wrong with you? All you talk about is aliens and ghosts and seeing bigfoot in your garage!"

I have dibs on that girl over there!
by Steve December 29, 2002
A mini dab done with the thumb and index finger. Done when a dab is not appropriate or sufficient. Multiple dibs consecutively are not only permitted but encouraged.
Adam dabbed the other day and dislocated his shoulder, so now he does a dib for the sake of safety.

The game played by young gentlemen in which you call 'dibs' on any young lady that takes your fancy. Players are limited to five 'dibs' per evening out. When a player calls 'dibs' he must also tap another player with varying degrees of force, depending on the amount of alcohol that has been consumed. Once a young lady has had 'dibs' called on her she becomes out of bounds for all other players for the entirety of the evening. Any player who flaunts this rule and continues to 'pull' a lady who has had 'dibs' called on her, must pay a suitable forfeit.
The only exception to this rule is when a player calls cardboard on a young lady who has had ‘dibs’ called on her. Players are limited to one ‘cardboard’ call per evening and this allows that player to ‘pull’ the afore mentioned young lady as well as the original ‘dibs’ caller. The young lady remains out of bounds for all other players.
