Brud is used as a form of address or a term of endearment for a buddy that is so close he’s like a brother.

Ex 1. Those guys are more than my friends, they are my Bruds

Ex 2. I’ve known Kevin for 20 years, he’s my Brud

Scandinvian for bride or nice looking woman. When used about guys in the meaning of bro/bud Scandinavians just assume the person saying it is gay if male, or that the one mentioned is transvestite, and think nothing more if it.
