An arm punt is when this pass is intercepted. This is not as much on the quarterback as a regular interception, because it is a desperation throw and, barring insane luck, a less risky throw would have zero chance at getting a first down.
In the 2016 NFC Championship Game, when the Packers had the ball on third and long with 2 minutes left in the half, Aaron Rodgers threw an arm punt to a Falcons defender.
