A person who thinks that her or his oversimplified answer will solve a controversial debate. The person is normally is in the late teens and the subject matter is usually religious, political, or ethical.
The phrase originates from the most common source of this stereotype.

"You mean Freshman Philosophy Major? After an intro philosophy class she thinks she can definitively prove that God does not exist."

an event held by immature seniors in which they target the freshmen and torture them. this will typically involve shoving into lockers, pushing into walls, tripping, sexual harassing the females, etc. apparently intimidating freshmen and making them feel like shit is fun. this day is typically held shortly after the first day of school or shortly before the last day.

Immature Senior: hey man tomorrows freshman beat-down, its gonna be awesome, you gonna be there?

Mature Senior: nah, dude i don't enjoy torturing freshmen, unlike you I want to be good example to them.
