This can be seen as the most exciting and rewarding event of any evening - the main course of a night. It can be romance...it should be romance....

George: "So, last night! Wow! I mean, What a night!"
Chuck: "What did you do or I mean, who did you do? HAHAHAA!"
George: "I was with Alexia. She is so sweet! We held hands and looked into each others eyes - that was the entrée of the evening. I'm not a sex fiend like you, Chuck. Now let's go mug that old lady!"

Delayed Entry Program

A person in their 30's (or older) who still lives with their parents and therefore delayed full adulthood. Synonymous with Peter Pan Syndrome. They have instead opted to delay living financially independent from their parents, starting their own family and/or parting with their vast collection of video games and other childhood toys. They have entered the Delayed Entry Program (for adults). Not to be confused with the program of the same name for entering the military.

Bernard hasn't left home since high school still works at the same supermarket he did in high school and is in his 30's. He has decided to sign-up for the Delayed Entry program (for grownups).

Delayed Entry Program

A male in their 30's (or older) who lives with their parents and has never lived independently. They are content with having a job that has little to no responsibility and doesn't require a background check or drug tests. They are not sure how to attract a female, save money for the future to buy or rent their own place, nor save for their retirement. Often referred to as Peter Pan Syndrome. Ambitions tend to focus on becoming a social media influencer without any plan for how to do that. They have entered the Delayed Entry Program for adults.

Ted is in his 30's, lives at home and works part-time at a local store. He is not sure how to set goals such as move out on his own or advance in his career. He has entered the delayed entry program (for adults)

Anti-Entropy

The active, deliberate force or process that fights against the natural slide into disorder. It’s not just the absence of chaos, but the work required to maintain a system. In a universe that prefers randomness, anti-entropy is the effort of tidying up, debugging code, or patching a relationship. It’s the conscious application of energy to keep things from falling apart. While entropy is the universe's default setting, anti-entropy is the workaround.

Example: "My will to live is the only thing holding back the entropy of this apartment. Every dish I wash is an act of pure anti-entropy."

Negative Entropy

Often confused with anti-entropy, negative entropy is the result of successful anti-entropy: a state of increased order and complexity. It’s a pocket of the universe where things are more structured than they should be, like a crystal forming in a solution or a Wikipedia page existing in a sea of random facts. It's the measure of how much a system has defied the odds to become more organized. You can't create order from nothing, but you can create a localized zone where order is king.

Example: "That perfectly organized spreadsheet is a bastion of negative entropy in the chaotic hellscape of my Google Drive."

Anti-Entropy (Physics)

In physical terms, anti-entropy isn't a violation of the Second Law, but rather a localized, energy-driven process that creates pockets of order in a universe trending toward disorder. It's what happens when you put energy into a system to make it more organized. Your refrigerator is an anti-entropy machine—it uses electricity to create a cold, orderly pocket inside while dumping waste heat (increased entropy) into your kitchen. Life itself is the ultimate anti-entropy process, using solar energy to build exquisitely ordered structures from simple molecules.

Negative Entropy (Physics)

Often mistakenly used interchangeably with anti-entropy, negative entropy is actually a mathematical expression for a decrease in entropy, representing a system becoming more ordered. In information theory, it's directly related to the concept of "negentropy" and represents the potential for work or the amount of information a system can store. A crystal has negative entropy compared to the liquid it formed from; a hard drive stores information by creating tiny magnetic domains of negative entropy; a living cell maintains its negative entropy by constantly exporting waste entropy to its surroundings.
