Hostels regularly provide organised events and activities. The types of fun things that dull hotel patrons would most likely “tut” at. These include happy hours and Beer Pong, an internationally recognised hostel sport, with games held every 10 minutes.
I went solo backpacking for a few months and stayed in hostels. I lost a few socks, but I gained 3267 new friends.
