the notebook

The world's greatest example of a chick flick. Based off a book by Nicholas Sparks (of A Walk to Remember fame, so you know what you're getting from the start), it follows two Southern teenagers (played by Ryan Gosling, who every girl who's ever seen the movie develops an irrational crush on, and Rachel McAdams, who is much more palatable in Wedding Crashers) from apparently the 1950s to the present day. Being male, I didn't keep track of the plot, or the dialogue, or much else: I just kept handing the girl I was watching it with tissues and nipping off to the bathroom to check the Chicago White Sox score.

Girl: OMG I LUV THE NOTEBOOK!!111!!1
Guy: Oh god, here we go again...

your concern is noted

I heard what you said, but I just don't give a shit. "Your concern is noted" is the perfect phrase for casually dismissing an opinion you disagree with. It demonstrates a lack of concern by displaying an obvious pretense of actually caring. The phrase is reminiscent of the corporate-speak companies use when accepting suggestions that they will no doubt ignore.

Joe: Obama is not an American! He has a Kenyan birth certificate! I demand he be removed from office immediately!

Sally: Your concern is noted.

brown note

As referenced in South Park, a low-pitched sound that can cause someone to crap their pants. May also be used to refer to any infrasound note that can create disorientation, nausea, etc.

I'm not so sure using the brown note on those protesters was a good idea. They're still rioting and now they smell like they need a diaper change.
