Refers to sexual (or romantic) attraction between people who seem unlikely to be compatible. For example, a republican and a democrat, or a pastor and a secular engineer. The reference alludes to the unlikely nature of such a match.

Walter really won the sweepstakes, dating that sweet germaphobe Sophie? Can you imagine! A garbage truck driver and a germaphobe!

speedspurts

Coined in the hill/mountain towns in West Virginia. Speedspurts are the red and white barriers that have red flashing lights sometimes and repetitive dingdingdinging along with the flashing lights as they place themselves between train tracks and cars on the road.

I couldn't have raced the train if I wanted to; the speedspurts would mess up the new paintjob on my car.
