Bubu is a term of endearment used to describe someone who is extremely adorable, like a baby. This nickname gained popularity among the friends of Ofry Sakal Nezry, who coined the term to describe her because she is the epitome and origin of bubu.

However, it can also be used as an insult towards someone to indicate that their suffering is insignificant and that they need to toughen up.
