Practicing the Bassoon

1. Going into the back room under the pretense of practicing the bassoon. However, the perpetrator proceeds to smoke the devil's lettuce, usually using the bassoon as a bong.

2. A euphemism for smoking pot.
Taylor: What were you doing back there?

Ben: Just practicing the bassoon.

Practical Vegetarian

A Practical Vegetarian is someone who almost always eats plant based food when that choice is available. And when that choice is not available she is open to eating whatever food is indeed available.
During my trips around the world I sometimes eat animal products as I am a practical vegetarian. If the choice is available I eat plant based foods.

Practicing Mexican

1. A Mexican American who was raised in a white neighborhood forgot Spanish and adapted white customs. However, tries to regain their lost heritage. Therefore practices.

2. A Mexican American who is more in touch with his/her American side than his/her Mexican side but still eats and celebrates Mexican.
José: You're Mexican? I thought you were white?

Kristen: Yeah, it's because in grammar school I went to an all white school so I kinda forgot my Spanish.

José: Can you speak some?

Kristen: Yeah, I still eat my tortillas and all.

José: Then you're a Practicing Mexican. :
