Snow Day

A day in winter when a large amount of snow falls in a short amount of time making travel difficult. Schools close for this reason. Usually enjoyed unless you are older in which case you have to shovel. Has become increasingly common in the Northern Midwest and New England over the past few years.

Guy 1: Hey did you see the weather forecast?
Guy 2: Yea, 15 inches of snow tomorrow.
Guy 1: You know what that means...
Guy 2: SNOWDAY!!!

Teacher: Hmm chance of snow for next week.
Student: it will be a snow day.
Teacher: No it wont
Student: Yes it will we live in Wisconsin.

snow pioneer

A snow pioneer is the first person who treads through any amount of snow greater than ankle height. As a result, this pioneer will suffer the consequences of stepping into deep snow, however their sacrifice will allow the people who follow through those very same footsteps to remain relatively unaffected by the snow.

We have to cut across this field! Thank god for the snow pioneer, without their trail of footsteps, my socks would be soaked!

thunder snow

When Mother Nature decides to kick it up an extra notch, because regular snow just isn't exciting enough.

You'd think 50mph winds and a freezing blizzard would be enough, but then we got Thunder Snow. Mother Nature must be on the rag.

snow channel

Television static. Used as a euphemism for the black-and-white specks that flash across the screen, giving the impression of falling snow.

I hooked up my cable, but nothing came through. All I could watch last night was the snow channel.

snow stop

the choice to not come to a complete stop at a stop sign to avoid skidding and for fear of spinning one's wheels on snow and/or ice while trying to move forward again.

similar to a rolling stop.

Man, that cop didn't appreciate my snow stop.

Thank goodness I did a snow stop on that hill. There was no way I was going to get going again.

Much like the Gods of days past, Snow Jesus is the 'being' if you will that you pray to in order for it to snow.

James-I heard on the news it was gonna snow tonight!

Jessie-I'm gonna pray real hard to Snow Jesus so school will be canceled!
