Me: The PS5 is sold out literally everywhere, and EBGames said they're restocking in March next year... Man I really hate being Canadian right now...

cancellation consolation

Da complimentary gingerbread and hot chocolate dat they serve you at da public-transportation depot to make ya feel less bummed out when they hafta delay a departure due to a scheduled trip's being nixed for whatever reason.

Another example of a "cancellation consolation" would be if someone had to regretfully forgo a promised activity due to an unforeseen mishap, but offers you a comparably-enjoyable alternative, such as if a cute chick had arranged to go for a pleasant stroll hand-in-hand wif you, but then she accidentally hurt her foot and thus made it too painful for her to walk a long distance, and so she offered to let you savoringly massage her pretty feet for an extended period instead.

Consoleitis

Consoleitis, is the problem of console-to-computer ports, where gameplay, is reduced to mindless, bashing of buttons, without any intellectual stimulation.

Square Enix’s “Life Is Strange” series, “Star Ocean: Towards The End of Time,” and “Nier: Automata,” avoid consoleitis, by having deeply philosophical storylines.

Console Scraps

A derogatory term for console ports often used by console fanboys and occasionally PC elitists. As the 'scraps' part of the word implies, these are often ports of extremely old console games, (occasionally) when there's a new entry in either the same series or by the same developer that's (at the time of release) only for consoles. Effectively, consoles are getting the main course while PC gets sloppy seconds. This practice has fallen off in recent years, but it still happens from time to time, most often from Japanese publishers. A similar concept exists for consoles, in the form of 'HD Remasters', but those are generally old games for new platforms, while PC has been around since the game's initial release and should have gotten the game sooner.

-Hey, did you hear that Catherine got ported to PC?
-Yeah, after like what, 8 years? It's just console scraps, why are people making a big deal out of it?
-But this makes it the best version, it can run above 720p and 30FPS!
-So? Even Quake could do it.

Console Licker

Kind of like a Weeb but instead of Anime it is video games. Usually known as "geeks" but in this day and age that typically means just a cool overweight guy who likes board games. But anyway, a console licker is literally obsessed with video games where to the point where they participate in zero sports and are usually very annoying. And it also dictates their physical and mental health. And spiritual health if that applies because they skip church too GAME.

Yeah, Porter skipped church again. He also skipped school. And I can see he is online through the Xbox app. What a console licker.
