A sport that requires a great amout of strenght and talent, cheer is not just 4 schools they r competive and train extremly hard! Not 2 b confused with gymnastics. Gymnastics is more on vaults, beams, and un even bars, cheerleading is mostly stunting on the floor! A large sterotype cheerleader is an airheaded whore but all cheerleaders i know, including myself, are self respected girls whom are not allowed 2 cheer unless we maintain a B average. Please respect this sport because all of the haters have no idea what kind of training we r put threw! Enough training 2 lift and throw some1 in the air, think about it,,,,

Get the cheerleadermug. A cheerleader is a person who has decided to take up cheerleading. Being a cheerleader doesn't make a person any less smart, talented or anything. Not all of them are vapid, slutty, preppy, stupid, shallow, spoiled or snobby. Do you know cheerleaders that are? Then it's just THEM, not necessarily every other one!
I myself am not a cheerleader and I am not close friends with any. But they are still people, pigeonholed people who still do what they do despite all the people who ridicule and look down on them. Ironically, those people, the cheerleader haters, are being snobby. Isn't that a bitch?

Indeed, cheerleading could be seen as social conditioning, a preparation for a life's service to The Establishment through the systematic brainwashing of said cheerleaders and suppression of any semblance of free thought or assembly in a high school/college environment. Oh wait cheerleading season does not end for all-stars. I am attending the cheerleading worlds in florida in April which will include the best of the best teams from across the world. Thats right ACROSS THE WORLD! Let me see you do half the skill cheerleaders earn by practicing and hard work. Skill and technique is needed. If you think you can handle it, then show me...join. What level 5 teams do is pretty amazing to ALL spectators.

I'm going to clarify.
CHEERLEADERS. ARE. ATHELETES. We work hard and don't just run around wearing bootyshorts and being hyper. We work hard. We're not what the stereotype says. Get. It. Straight.
Most cheerleaders are also extremely flexible, so they can do scorpions/aerobesques/heel stretches/toetouches/pikes/herkies. They also should be strong for stunting.

Get the cheerleadersmug. it is a SPORT all of you who think it isn't should really try it yes the routine lasts about 3 minutes but you have to jump, tumble (gymnastics which takes a lot of muscle power), stunt (carrying people who weigh yes 100lbs or more while the person being carried has to twist their body like a pretzel & yes it takes flexibility then trowing that person high enough for them to be able to twist two to three times before being caught), hitting each motion perfectly as one which means tons of practice to get it just perfect for just those 3 minutes which took you at least 10 hours to practice just that routine over, and over again. Those of you who call US cheerleaders bimbos well we still have to keep our grades up in order to cheer and most of us want to go to college ok. We do compete against each other which most definitely makes it a sport.
And for those pathetic excuses of cheerleaders who whore around and just join to be popular you make the rest of us look bad those of us who really love to cheer. And no you don't have to be skinny to cheer no we don't make them go anorexic but you do have to be healthy fit and strong, and yes some cheerleaders aren't pretty but who cares who said they had to be.!!
