Morrisound Studios is where a great many classic death metal albums were recorded, like CC's Tomb of the Mutilated, Morbid Angel's Covenant, Obituary's Cause of Death, and even Brazilian thrashers Sepultura came to Tampa in 1991 to record Arise with producer Scott Burns, who also produced numerous death metal albums.
The style of Florida death metal is not easily defined, it varies from cannibal corpses blood and guts themes to deicides anti-christian ranting. But it is usually just straight forward and to the point, no fancy productions or studio wizardy with an emphasis on riffs and song structures. some bands are more techinical than others. Most of them use blast beats and especially double bass, vocals go from thrash yelling to low guttural growls to high shrieks.
Overall, death metal would not be the same without these bands. Florida swamp death metallers unite.
