A simple & effective torture device used by teachers & the administration to whip students into submission. Even after 7 hours at school slaving away in classes, memorizing information that will either be forgotten or absolutly no use in future life, this is handed out, making the impressionable young minds of the worlds' youth into conformed, robotic machines. Most teachers, adults, & government officals would have you believe that it is all nessesary for character-building and intelegence, but it is actually a cruel and unusual punishment.
"Psst, Anthony... Do you have any idea what Mr. Phillips was blabbering on about in math yesterday?... I think we needed it for the homework."
"Erm... no?"
"Dangit."
"You think? I'm gonna have to get Noah to explain it to me at lunch... about 10 minutes before class."
"You think this will be of any use to us in our future lives."
*Stare*

The reason students only get four hours of sleep a night.
A form of torture given to students by teachers.
Something to keep children and teenagers from having fun or doing something that actually matters.
What I should be doing right now.

Homework fails at epic proportions.

1.) Literally, work that is done at home. Usually applies to schoolwork. Homework is unnecessary as it is given to students who have already spent the majority of the day at school.
2.) Something that gets crueler with every grade. While the first graders chug away on their addition worksheets, they are blissfully unaware that they will soon enough be doing laborous tasks such as AP World History homework, Geometry 2 homework, English Honors homework, and even Gym homework on a nightly basis.
3.) Assignments that are wickedly easy to procrastinate on whenever there is a preferable activity at hand, such as YouTube, Xbox, or being impaled by a molten iron spike.
4.) What you are probably supposed to be doing at this very moment, seeing as you looked up "homework" on urbandictionary. I would go so far as to say you have a very LARGE amount of it.

Homework is what teachers give students when they feel that they haven't sufficiently tortured students enough during the allotted time period they have known as school. Once all the teachers have given you enough homework it can accumulate and force you to work long hours into the night. By the time you hit high school your schedule should look something like this:
6:30 AM - Wake up
7:30 AM - Go to school
3:15 PM- Get out of school
3:16 PM- Hang out with friends
5:00 PM - Start homework
4:00 AM - Finish homework
rinse, wash, repeat.

Something teachers give you which you will not do until five minutes before it's due if you did not do it during lunch or spent the night before halfassing it because instead of doing it you came here and typed down definitions.
I've got AP English homework that was due today, but since I went to the zoo instead of going to school, I decided not to do it when it was assigned, a week ago. Now, it's 1:11am and I am not even halfway done.
