rep booster

An act, quote, or action that is thought to be badass and a daring or funny move that was extemporaneously thought of and is above what other people are willing to do. Such a thing will bost your rep (reputation) and keep it high, so high that you will become a cool and known member of society. A rep booster does not have to be an act or action, it can just be something that you dare someone to do or something that you are recalling you have done, then the remark "that's such a rep booster" is often used. A rep booster that is in question may be brought to the house of reps.

One who relocates from a rural to an urban environment in a misguided attempt to become more "civilized". The name is derived from that individual's inability to fully assimilate to their new environment, specifically in their ability to choose appropriate footwear for certain events.

Morale booster

Someone who gets people's hopes up with talk about unity and peace. Someone who gives people a false sense of morale, which doesn't really do anything for them.

At least if the guy/girl who wasn't a morale booster/motivator wasn't going to do anything for anybody else, he didn't lie to them to make them feel like everything was going to be better than it was. Lighting a fire under somebody's ass is really just a way to get somebody else do what you want them to do, or be in line with your agenda, and being a morale booster/motivator is not much different.
