When a person is that attractive that it actually begins to affect your mental state. The Hughes Effect is only possessed by a few, but when encountered - you may find yourself longingly staring and admiring their assets from afar, as your too intimidated by their beauty to actually communicate with them.

The effect that occurs when a person sells food around campus causing other school fundraising events to gain more profit due to the increasing amount of people bringing money to school to buy from the person.

Landsverk effect

The Landsverk effect, is when you are having a conversation with someone, and that person can only respond with relating your issues and stories through themselves.

They will not actually listen to try understand the emotions and situation you are going through. Instead they will use your words vaguely, as a catalyst, a launching pad, to tell their emotions and situation to you.

As a result, that person will always, somewhat unintended, make sure that the convensation, is gonne be almost exclusively be about them.

I wanted to tell her how i felt, but as soon as I started, she found a way to make it about her. The entire talk was under the Landsverk effect. It really sucked.
