The number 6, drawn with curves, represents any sexual orientation outside of heterosexuality. The number 7, straight and pointed at its base, represents heterosexuality. When someone makes the “6–7” hand motion (hands moving up and down like “maybe” or “I don’t know”), it signifies being unsure, questioning, or acknowledging the spectrum between LGBTQ+ and straight.

The 6 7 was just a part of the hook until Tiktok creators started making basketball edits which heavily featured Lamelo ball an NBA who is literally 6ft 7 inches tall. It evolved into something else once the kids on TikTok got a hold of it, saying it everywhere anytime the number 6 and 7 were mentioned together stretching out the 7 with their hands going up and down.
