Senpai is a anime/manga word that actually means senior in japanese.

In other words: The only time you can call someone senpai is your japanese teacher if you are in japan.

Never call your friend senpai they will probably get a M-16 on you.

Japanese teacher: 先輩について学びます (We are going to learn about senpai's.)

Renlu: 先輩はどういう意味ですか？(What does senpai mean?)

Japanese teacher: 上級 (Senior.)
