Screenshatting

ScreenShatting (verb)

The act of aggressively screenshotting someone’s post, artwork, or authored content—usually out of context—and reposting it to provoke rage, derail conversation, or farm clout. It’s digital sabotage disguised as engagement. Often used by trolls, baiters, or chaos agents who can’t match the original tension, so they fracture it instead.
“After David dropped that capsule, the trolls started ScreenShatting it everywhere—no credit, no context, just pure distortion to bait reactions.”

Screenshattin

A stylized, performative version of ScreenShatting—used by clout-chasers and thread manipulators who flatten screenshots with flair, slang, and merch-ready swagger. It’s not sabotage for impact—it’s sabotage for attention. ScreenShattin’ is the remix culture’s attempt to make digital fracture look cool while dodging authorship and tension.
“He's been Screenshattin my post to bait engagement and dodge authorship.”
