Pi Chart

An eye chart for math geeks, with the digits of the number π and some math symbols on display rather than showing any of the 26 letters of the English alphabet and the ten numerals.

Doctors at some elite colleges are giving students who come for their medical check-up the option to choose between a pi chart and the eye chart that is commonly used in spectacles shops and hospitals.

On Cloud Pi

The latest e-commerce shiny object, where math educators’ memories of Pi Day events are stored in the cloud and can be downloaded for a fee—charges are based on a customer satisfaction index (CSI), which ranks each memory or story in proportion to the degree of pleasure or satisfaction it brings.

With schools unlikely to open for another year, which by then the pandemic is predicted to have subsided, being on cloud pi is the closest experience for math students and teachers to vicariously be on cloud nine on the most important date in the mathematics calendar.

Pi in the Sky

When the passengers on a plane up in the sky are separately seated based on the the digits of the decimal number π—there are three empty seats between the first and second passenger, one empty seat between the second and third passenger, four empty seats between the third and fourth passenger, and so on.

Pi Second

The fifty-third second of 9:26 a.m. of March 14, 2015. So called because 3.141592653 is pi down to nine decimal places, and Pi Second is 3/14/15 9:26:53.

On Pi Second, we will play the sound of a bell ringing for all the world to hear! Pi Second is only one second out of every 100 years, so it only happens every three billion or so seconds. Enjoy the second while you can!

Dog Pies are dog feces piles of poop, usually in the lawn of someone who owns a dog.

Magnum PI's

Very tight, upper-thigh length shorts that were popular in the 1980's and were a staple of Tom Selleck's wardrobe in the popular television series Magnum P.I. These shorts usually clearly outline one's package and leave nothing to the imagination. Frequently worn by those with a mullet.

I was out of clean clothes so I threw on some Magnum PI's. I spent all day tucking back the meat to keep from playin turtle and scaring the locals.

Cow Pies

n. plur. {cawh pîz} - cow fecal matter that hardens into a pie like shape in a cow pasture.

While leaning over the fence on the side of a cow pasture I fell over and landed in some nasty cow pies.
