The generations of warfare are:
* 1st Generation: tactics of line and column; which developed in the age of the smoothbore musket.
* 2nd Generation: tactics of linear fire and movement, with reliance on indirect fire.
* 3rd Generation: tactics of infiltration to bypass and collapse the enemy's combat forces rather than seeking to close with and destroy them; and defense in depth.
Fourth Generation Warfare is asymmetricall warfare which uses traditionally non-military means to achieve military objectives.
Common types of Fourth Generation Warfare are
1. Propaganda or mass media manipulation e.g. Pallywood
2. Economic or financial warfare e.g. 1970's Arab oil embargo, sanctions, attempting to weaken a countrie's currency.
3. Lawfare e.g. international "law"
4. Cyber warfare e.g. Hacking an enemy's computer networks

China is using Fourth Generation Warfare when it launches thousands of cyber attacks against America's department of defense networks on a daily basis.

Get the Fourth Generation Warfare mug.The quintessential Who song. It was one of the first songs to have a fucking badass bass solo, and the stuttering vocals are extremely distinctive (I think that they were that way because the Who were a mod band at this time, and the mods were always going on speed, which makes you stutter, but again I'm not sure about this). Without the Who, rock would not be the same. My Generation rocks harder than all this modern pop shit that corporations pull out of their ass combined. It's one of those songs that people will still be listening to in 400 years (along with the rest of the Who because they were fucking legendary) I just wish I could relate to the song...
Most memorably, the Who destroyed their set after playing this song at the Monterrey Pop festival in 1967. they became famous for instrument destruction after that, especially with this song

Get the My Generation mug.E Generation is the definition of Entitled Adult children who Estrange from their parents out of distorted self-important rationalizations of being superior over others, yet never having put forth effort to actually achieve anything of significance on their own. Entitlement and Estranged being the key words.
They will withhold visits to the grandchildren as a weapon to control their own parents/grandparents. Parents of the Entitled/Estranged children are often blindsided by the cruel tactics used by their own children, which include but are not limited to: manipulative tactics, character assassination, false accusations, legal restraining orders, demands for apologies for "crimes" that were never committed except in the fantastical thinking of the accuser, extortion for funds to buy things like houses and cars or to pay bills for their progeny, often times estranging from decent parents as the ultimate power play to hurt and control those who have been responsible caregivers. The battles are recognizable as fierce completion of child against parent at all costs.

What is it with all these adult children who become tyrants and attempt to rule the roost with an iron fist? Just typical of the E Generation
The E-generation-a generation of teens and young adults that feel so empowered and entitled that they often clash with their parents, creating a palpable power struggle within the family. This often leaves good parents alone, depressed, and completely befuddled as to what they did wrong. ha
E Generation participants will expect others to just believe that they practically raised themselves in an ultra "abusive" household, but anyone who has observed their upbringing knows that they were indulged, given resources unconditionally, and well-loved by devoted parents. Estranging from those parents is the ultimate "temper tantrum" thrown by spoiled, entitled adult children in order to punish their parents for loving them too much.
She has blocked her parents from FB and won't let them see the grandchildren because she didn't like them "trying to control" her with their opinions. More Weak sauce and manipulation from an E-Gen!

Get the E Generation mug.The earliest children of Generation Z are those born in and after 1990 and are often the children of generation X. They are unique as they have grown up with the internet. This generation is very networked with social networks and many means of communication and means of entertainment at their finger tips such as Cell Phones, iPod, Facebook, YouTube and IM. Digital networking and sharing is common and many have not known a time without the internet and are often referred to as digital natives.

Get the Generation Z mug.1) What our grandchildren living in caves and mud huts will write in books as the cause of the end of the civilized world.
2)Anybody born after August 8th, 1981. 90% of these people have been guided to life by shows such as road rules and the real world. They will listen to anything MTV tells them to listen to, and buy anything MTV tells them to buy. The End of free will. Led Zeppelin will still live in our hearts though, the one of the last bands before the music died.

-Side Note: Nirvana somehow managed to cause a short break in the MTV generation, but MTV planned an assination of Kurt Cobain. People still think he committed suicide.
It's sad, because I'm a part of this generation, and I can see what MTV did to my friends. Its so hard on a person like me.

Get the mtv generation mug.The generation of children who lack a parent who is always there for them and is far more concerned with their own life. The term 'easybake generation' comes from the idea that these children are 'self raised,' in the same sense as 'self raising flower': an ingredient that is common in easy to bake recipes.
Are you part of the easybake generation?
His parents are never around, must be part of the easybake generation.

Get the Easybake generation mug.William Straus and Neil Howe's clustering of millennials based on birth years, the generational classification was referred to as Generation Y, and muddled the fair representation of those who experienced their adolescence and cognitive-development years in step with the nascent phase of home-based Internet access technology.
While often lumped together with millennials (as defined by Straus and Howe), the developmental phase of social interaction, which involved information technology's burgeoning impact on society, was overlooked. Generation Y represented the crossroads between millennials who were well immersed in computer technology even as far as experiencing an institutionalization of computer education in academic curricula and Generation X members who were heavily immersed in broadcast media's influence and yet largely uninitiated in computer technology. Generation Y represents the link between the non-digital age society shaped by Generation X, as adolescents (MTV Generation), and the dawn of the Internet age that saw the transitioning of society to easily accessible online communities (Bulletin board system, MIRC, Yahoo! Groups, Internet forum) especially during the introduction of dial-up Internet access to households.
Gen Y entangled pop culture and digital community-building through bulletin board systems, online forums, website mailing groups, mIRC, ICQ, and other electronic modes of communication (predecessors to social media) into today's digital age.
