This is the idea that nothing is ever really 'absolute' in the universe, and that things are destined to become 'obsolete.'

It is used to reference cynical ideology preventing progress and growth.

It was once thought impossible to fill a gigabyte of data...

Space travel is impossible...

The world was flat...

These ideas are now absolete because they were considered to be solid fact and yet were proved otherwise.

1) An insult towards an overweight person, taken from BBC sitcom The Office where main character David Brent mentions the term amongst insults shouted at him in the street. A play on words towards another BBC sitcom 'Absolutely Fabulous'.

2) A backhanded compliment.
