There have been numerous reports that when startled, they will emit an unpleasant odor and rippling sound very similar to the barking spider. Some experts have theorized that due to the different odors and sound variations that there may be different breeds of carpet toads. Most experts agree that it is closely related to the Brown Spitting Toad.

People from just about every other state can’t stand them, but many Queenslanders in some twisted way take pride in this.
