A long passage of time relating to the amount of time which an intern spends before their proper employment.

Intern: I've been working for 2 years and no promotion, they've praised my work ethic and efficiency, but I'm still an intern.
Employee: I get ya; I was working with no pay for an internity!

Intensifier

A device used on a followspot that mysteriously makes the light brighter or dimmer. Little is known about how it works. It has only been seen in followspot operations only when the lamp is operated by an elf. It supplants normal operation of the more commonly used douser or less used chopper.

That spot didn't have a douser, it had an intensifier. I was able to make it work though.
