text-a-bout

A long and rapid fire text exchange between two or more people, usually about nothing, using mobile devices. Text-a-bouts usually are social in nature and in the past may have been grounds for other forms of conversation such as a phone call. " I was about to call Jane but we got into this big text-a-bout and didn't have to."

Not to be confused with Text-battle which is more combative in nature, a text-a-bout is usually more casual and sometimes flirtatious in nature. Seldom spoken about but you know when it occurs, typically 20-30 texts at a time would comprise a text-a-bout.

Email-Texting

A term to define the exchanging of e-mails between 2 close friends, when then are just sitting at the computer waiting for each other to respond. It means that you are e-mailing each other like most people would text.

Person 1: "I heard that Sally was email-texting with Sarah last night"
Person 2: "Losers"

When you are certain you feel your phone vibrating inside your pocket only to find you don't have your phone on you.

I spent a minute searching for my phone, just to find I haven't got it on me, I must be getting phantom texts.

Reeky text

Texting someone in a manner that is annoying and derogatory, especially if it is a common occurance.

"I'll give you my boyfriend's number as long as you promise not to reeky text him every five minutes"
"I do not reeky text!"
"Last time you stole my phone you spammed him with messages calling him a fuckboy and worse."

To walk into a place without having a sense of where you are going then to pull out your phone, pretend to read a text message, and turn the other way.

I accidentally walked into the wrong aisle in Publix and everyone seemed to be watching me, so I text turned back to where I needed to go.
