Dead week

A term used to describe the time between the last finals of Yale and the official Commencement activities. As tradition in recent generations, graduating seniors travel durring this time (especially to Myrtle Beach, SC). Other underclassmen participating or working for graduation all move to Old Campus housing. There are no planed events and thus they must just wait for Dead Week to end and graduation to start (the YPMB is famous for having a film festival with each class making a film durring Dead Week--including a Junior feature length film--that is screened at the end of Dead Week).

Yalie K: "I am so excited to just party and do nothing durring Dead Week."

Yalie T: "I am too but know that I will be freaking out about finishing papers that I could not get done."

Yalie K: "You are stupid! Dead Week is when you are done with school and can just day drink at Yale."

Dead-Round

Round usually reserved for last minute strats and screen shots if necessary.

Both teams must stay in their respective spawn and if called to the center of the map for SS's, NOT open fire.

The defending team's captain called for a dead-round.

dead gemmies 

Inflatable holiday yard decorations (most of which are manufactured by a company called 'Gemmy') without the blower motor on; the inflatables deflate and appear as flat, lifeless blobs on the lawn.

"Dude, their yard won first place in the neighborhood decoration contest, but when they turn the power off at night, it's just a graveyard of dead Gemmies."

Dead man's lover 

1) When a problem is encured, this phrase is used to tell another person that the originator's needs are simply not possible/available and probably won't be in the near future.

2) To be doomed to misery in the near future

3) A term used to refer to a homosexual that engages in necrophelia.

1) "Dude, you know how you need that kidney? Well, you're looking at being a dead man's lover."
