A character who lost all it's charm and is now food for stronger fictional characters, it mostly happens when a character becomes overrated which is why some fodder characters can be called overrated fodder.

When playing a competitive board game, one who is losing/having their pieces eaten can be referred to as 'pounce fodder', implying that their only purpose in the game is to provide a piece for other players to use to gain points/turns by 'pouncing' on
