'clear the floor' is a term often used in jail/prison. Corrections staff call out 'clear the floor' to initiate a lockdown. When 'clear the floor' is called, all the inmates within earshot are to sprint to their cells, enter it, and close the door behind them. This is used during situations, such as fights, in which the corrections staff need to make sure all the inmates are secure.

Corrections Officer: "CLEAR THE FLOOR!"
Inmates: *sprint to their cell, go inside, close and secure the door behind them*

Hitler was a terrible, awful, despicable, cruel, dastardly person but he had some pretty good ideas.

Guy talking with girlfriend about his ex.
GF: We started dating, like, a year after you broke up.
Guy: Yeah, but that doesn't matter with her.
Guy: She's got a crazy streak, and this is bound to set her off.
Guy: What if she hurts me physically?
Guy: What if she hurts me with words?
GF: Just talk to her. Clear the air.

Originally, a clear channel radio station was one that had somehow gotten the right to have a number on the dial with no other radio stations anywhere near it-- therefore, you could hear it for hundreds of miles, both because it had a very strong signal, and because there were no other radio stations with similar dial numbers competing with it.
35 years ago, you could hear WBZ (which was a clear channel radio station based in Boston) as far away as Ohio.
