Normandy Beached

A term inspired by the historic Normandy beach landings of World War II.
Referring to the act of a large vessel or ship intentionally grounding itself on a piece of land, typically near a body of water, in a strategic or deliberate manner. This maneuver allows for easy unloading of cargo, passengers, or equipment, resembling the amphibious landings in Normandy but adaptable to various locations worldwide, such as urban environments like Venice or other coastal areas.

Man 1: I was chilling in Venice when I saw about a hundred levies land on the beach.

Man 2. They just got Normandy Beached.

The Beach (Mental Illness)

The concept of a "beach" is a human perception constructed from sensory input, blending sand, water, and various elements into a mental experience. In reality, there is no universal or intrinsic existence of a beach; it is a mental abstraction shaped by individual interpretations of coastal environments.

I have been diagnosed with The Beach (Mental Illness). I have episodes where I believe there is a beach. In reality, there is no such thing.

Jones Beach

1) A state park, recreational facility and beach on the Jones Beach Island along southern coast of Long Island. It is one of 5 barrier islands on Long Island. It resides in between the borders of Nassau and Suffolk counties. It is a beach that receives millions of visitors annually from the Suffolk, Nassau, and New York City areas each summer. It was built by Robert Moses and opened to the public in the late summer of 1929.

2) A term used to refer to the wacky inexplicable actions of the patrons of Jones Beach. Some could describe the reasoning and explanations of the actions in Jones Beach as “beyond science.” The best way to explain the phenomena at Jones Beach is to not explain it at all. The only real way to understand it is to experience it yourself. This term was first coined in early 2024.

Somebody: Welp, looks like it’s that time of year again…
Other person: What do you mean?
Somebody: It’s time for my annual migration to Jones Beach this summer.

Other person: Good luck, I hope you survive!

Additional definition:
Somebody: I saw a guy the other day walking down Jericho Turnpike with a pickle attached to a leash and he was rambling about the consequences of the microwave industry to the wall of the Applebee’s.

porcelain beach

The part of the inside of a toilet bowl that does not include the water. It is the part that leads to the water similar to how the beach leads to water in the ocean. The porcelain beach is often the part of the inside of the toilet that gets marked when the kids are dropped off on the shore and not in the water.

I had to use the toilet brush to clean the porcelain beach after a doozie of a deuce.
