Get the batshit normal mug.The fallacy of judging past societies, actions, or norms by the standards of the present, or conversely, of justifying outdated, harmful practices by arguing "that was normal at the time." In its dismissive form, it's used to invalidate modern moral critiques of historical figures by claiming a lack of historical context. More perniciously, it's used to defend the persistence of antiquated injustices by appealing to their historical commonality.
Example: Defending a founding father's slaveholding by saying, "It was normal then, you can't judge him," commits the Historical Normality Bias. It uses historical descriptivism ("it was common") to avoid moral judgment, implying that collective moral failure excuses individual participation in atrocity.

Get the Historical Normality Bias mug.A bias where one's own cognitive processes—how one thinks, learns, reasons, remembers—are taken as the universal standard, and any deviation is seen as error or deficiency. Cognitive Normativity Bias is what makes linear thinkers assume that nonlinear thinkers are confused, what makes verbal thinkers assume that visual thinkers are disorganized, what makes fast processors assume that slow processors are stupid. It's the assumption that there is one right way to think, and that way is whatever way you think. This bias is especially common in educational settings, where one cognitive style is privileged and all others are accommodated (if they're lucky) or pathologized (if they're not). The cure is recognizing that cognition is diverse, that different minds work differently, and that difference is not deficit.
Example: "He thought in images, not words. His teacher thought in words, not images. Cognitive Normativity Bias meant the teacher saw his visual thinking as a problem to fix, not a different way of knowing. 'You need to learn to think clearly,' she said, meaning 'you need to think like me.' He never did, but he learned that his mind was 'wrong.' The bias had done its work: making difference feel like failure."

Get the Birth normie mug.The situation where people who have excessive screen time per day will get an eye, whilst AFK moments are "normalized" (i.e. happens more frequently and feels less painful). For example, in K-12 school campuses where smartphones must be collected during school hours, which is akcually meant to create conducive learning environments and not to "condition" students for unavoidable AFK moments in the foreseeable future.
At school, we have to hand in our phones, which makes AFK normalcy a real thing—everyone's so used to stepping away from their screens that it hardly bothers us anymore!

Get the AFK normalcy mug. When you have been needing caffeine to function for a while now, hence you forgot the last time you weren't dependant on black coffee or caffeine pills like Tombocantuxin — even though you were once too young to need caffeine
I can't remember the last time I went a whole day without Tombocantuxin caffeine pills; at this point, caffeine normalcy feels like a requirement just to get out of bed!
