This morning a terrible tragedy occured. One quarter of much-admired Liverpudlian band the Beatles and world peace activist, John Lennon has been shot. In other news the Spice Girls have released another single and hope to tour every club worldwide shortly.

These things happen

usually used with the words "I suppose...." before "these things happen." A phrase which is similar to shit happens and it is what it is. This expression, though, implies that the action that caused the saying of the phrase was so hopelessly terrible to the speaker, that him/her don't have anything to say, and use it as a means of justifying the terrible event.

1: Damn, I just lost my kids in a court case.

Crazy Random Happen Stance

An unbelievable coincidence which may or may not be truly random. Origins: random happening or circumstance.

Dr. Horrible: Hey, isn't this weird? I ordered one frozen yogurt and they gave me two. You don't happen to like frozen yogurt do you?
Penny: I love it!
Dr. Horrible: You're kidding. What a crazy random happen stance!

I can see how that happened

Something to say when you see a gorgeous woman pushing a baby stroller or carrying a child. It's considered a subtle way of pointing out a hottie in the vicinity.

Opposite of I can't see how that happened.

First example:
Guy #1: Look at that MILF over there!
Guy #2: I can see how that happened.

Second example:
Guy #1: Blah blah blah blah blah.
Guy #2: (nods in a direction) I can see how that happened.
Guy #1: Oh yeah, totally.

Commonly used when trying to explain somethin that had resulted from wrong doing, or forgetfulness or somethin thats just really hard to explain or not wanting to be explained.

Parent: Y aint the dishes done?

Child: Well see what had happen was!(pause) 106 and park was on!

or:

Husband: Y iz u late comin home?

wifey: ummm See what had happen was (pause) I got lost!
