Speedball

A drinking game involving a min. of 4 players (2 players on each team), 4 cans of beer and a pong ball.

A can of beer is set on each corner of a retangular table. Each team takes a side and cracks their beers (not all the way, only slightly as to ease opening during actual play). Then one person on either team throws the pong ball at the opposing teams beer. If they hit it they have to open their beer all the way and then drink as quickly as possible while the other team hurries to get the ball and return it to the table. When the other team recovers the ball they must return it to the table< touching it to the table, and yelling stop. This in turn signals the opposite team to stop drinking. Now its' the other teams' turn. A team may have more than 2 players if one is unable to run and designates a 'runner' (someone who returns the ball to the table after it is thrown). The object of the game is to be the first team to drink both cans of beer (hence the name "Speedball". You may not share/swap beers with each other or the opposing teams. You may not touch the other teams beer. No one, outside of the players on your team, is allowed to assist in returning the ball to the table.

Speedball was one of the greatest games on the Commodore Amiga computer (and ST but let's not talk about that POS - spit).

Written by the Bitmap Brothers and published in 1991, it combined elements of the film "Rollerball" and... a computer game. Extreme violence coupled with super-smooth graphics and crunching sound ensured a two-player contest between you and your best mate ended up in fisticuffs.

A sequel was written, Speedball 2, which captured all of the elements of the first game but introduced eight-way scrolling, extra ways to gain points and even more violence.

Middle-Age Speedball

Like the "Pill-Lattes" but for men. Strong coffee or an energy drink and a Percodan/Percocet/ Oxy/ etc.... Usually chewed.

Older guys with physical jobs are the demographic here....

I get through the day on with a Middle-Age Speedball.

One of the greatest games ever played in gym class. It is a combination of basketball soccer and football. You can either score a goal (one point), shoot a basket (two points), get a touchdown(one point), or dropkick the ball (ten pionts). Any time the ball hits the ground the only thing you can do is kick it. You can kick it up for someone to catch. When the ball is in your hands you can only take three steps before you have to get rid of it.

Oh man guys, gym class was so great today because we had the most intense game of speedball ever!
