take the note

Used in theatre, when a director is giving "notes" to the actors after a rehearsal or performance. Many people feel the need to defend their actions or get defensive when receiving criticism or correction. It is meant as a conversation stopper to avoid protracted arguments and to demonstrate the objectiviy needed to progress.

"Freddie, I know they mug like that on the West End, but here I need you to pull it in a little."

"Well, yes, but I was trying to convey a sense of urgency..."

"Freddie, pull it in."

"Yes, but I'd like to express myself fully..."

"Freddie. Pull it in."

"Yes, but..."

"Freddie. Take the note."

A one-hundred dollor bill. C stands for "centum" the Latin word for 100. The word "note" actually come from the bill it's self. Which reads, "This note is leagal tender for all debts, public and private."

Death Note

In my opinion, the greatest comic / cartoon of the 21st century. Maybe it's due to the fact that:

-The manga series was finished when the anime begin, so it doesn't have that many unnecessary fillers like Naruto and Bleach etc...

-The story is neither too long nor too short and has an ending, unlike the majority with unlimited episodes+fillers.

-Its original yet suspenseful storyline is a breath of fresh air from the typical teenage anime/manga you see.

-A battle of wits instead of flashy attacks.

If you're a fan of the manga death note, then you might as well check out "LIAR GAME", written by Shinobu Kaitani.

Death Note

Japanese Comic or manga that portrays the twisted and suspenseful story of Yamagi Light, a genius who gets his ambitious hands on the Notebook of Death. Upon writing a persons name and the cause of death within its pages the person will die 40 seconds later. However, Light has to overcome the police and super sleuth "L" who pursue him before he can "cleanse the earth" of filth.

Yoda Note

When taking notes in class, you miss the first part of the note, but get the last part. Thus adding the first part to the last part, making it look like Yoda himself wrote it.

Teacher: "The colonists were in political unrest in 1745."

Yoda Note: "1745, political unrest, the colonists were in."

"Red notebook!" is an exclamatory approximately equal to the meaning, "that is so obviously obvious and apparent that you must be an absolute moron not to have caught it."

In other words, DUH. Red notebook!

Usually accompanied by rolling eyes or, in text or IM conversations, an eye-rolling emote.

"Omg you mean all that music I downloaded from Pirate Bay was pirated?!"
"Duh! Red notebook!"

OR

"Hey, where's Allie?"
"I'm right here. Red notebook!"
