The People of the North are the friendliest of the British people albeit we do suffer from an extensive population of scumbags thanks to mass unemployment.

The North also has a much stronger economy, based on both manufacturing and "clean" industries (pharmaceuticals/software), insurance and banking companies, and a little bit of agriculture.
As animosity still remains from the American Civil War, a lot of Southerners despise Northerners, calling them "damyankees", and some in the southern Midwest they call "traitors", for being pro-Union and much less into the redneck culture. The North has always been a successful, prosperous region with diverse people, places, industries, and forms of entertainment. The North continues to thrive and grow today as well.
