Exactly the same as the slashdot effect but much more fun to say. To be slashdot slapped is when your website is listen on slash dot causing a huge spike in traffic.
Many of these sites can not handle the extra thousands of hits and go down, that is being slash dot slapped.

A person who faithfully subscribes to the prevailing Slashdot mentality. So much so that they seem like some kind of automaton droid, spewing forth a highly predictable stream of liberal banter.
Ray actually thinks that global warming is real and that George W. Bush stole the election with the help of the Bill Gates and the RIAA. But of course he says that Linux will save the world. What a Slashbot.
