Typically found on Internet discussion forums where the unsuspecting user clicks on the aforementioned link, cleverly disguised as something pertinent to the non-Rick-related discussion at hand.
The exact origins of this practical joke and subsequent naming are unknown but "rickrolling" first appeared early to mid May in 2007.

Get the rickrolled mug.Popular forum prank started in 2007. Someone will post a link to a Rick Astley video from the 1980s (Astley is a gay-looking pop singer from the 80s), but disguise it as a link to something else. Victims of the prank are then said to have been "rickrolled".
