Super Metroid

A completely sweet game for the Super Nintendo. Tons of hidden stuff, satisfying puzzles, & rippin' action, it's almost like a sci-fi cousin of the Legend of Zelda games.

Super Metroid is the third game in the Metroid series after the old NES one and the very hard but excellent Game Boy sequel.Nintendo at its classic best.

Metroid

In the ancient Chozo language Metroid means 'Great Warrior'. The Metroid species were named so because of their ability to fight the parasite X. Technically, since Samus Aran is capable of defeating the Metroid species and Parasite X, she is a 'metroid'.

Jeezus, I'm gonna get laughed at and lynched for actually knowing what Metroid means. I am SUCH a nerd.

Metroid Prime

A great game; which is ironic, because during the months before its release, Nintendo's decision to develop a next-gen Metroid game as an FPS earned the hatred of millions of fanboys, and it was the running joke on every forum. Then when the game came out, they realized it was the best thing they had ever played.

Metroid Prime + GameCube = Joy
Metroid Prime 2 + GameCube = More Joy
Metroid Prime (Hunters) + DS = PWNAGE.

Metroided

To have all of the abilities, equipment, powerups, etc, removed from a character in a videogame. Often happens at the start, or just before the start, of the game. Occasionally happens in the mid-to-late stages, but usually doesn't last for long. The term comes from the game, Metroid, where a player is usually stripped of all powers just before the game starts, forcing a long and difficult (though actually enjoyable) journey though the planet/space-station to recollect the various abilities you had at the beginning, so that you might destroy the final boss.

A: "I don't like the Metroid games for one reason."
B: "Oh?"
A: "You get Metroided."
B: "Oh."

Metroid Prime

An excelent game for the Nintendo Game Cube platform and an excellent homage to the meny previous games in the series. While the game is different in control and appearance (being set in an immersive 3d world) it fully captures the feel and greatness of the other 2d platform games in the series.

Metroid Prime is easily one of the greatest games to be released on the Game Cube.

Metroid Prime

One of the greatest games of all time. A game that Xbox owners bash because they don't understand that you need to have em all to play all the greats. Most people don't, but it's true.
