Slang: 1) females use it as a shortened, easier to type (but no less meaningful) form of “I love you”

2) male interpretation: when used in place of I love you, it means she doesn’t love you at all. You are completely justified in taking offense. In fact, if you get mad at your girl when she does this to you (out of spite, no doubt!) you should just break up with that dumb love-less cunt.

within certain circles of middle school girls and older homosexual males, this is the throw-off, insincere closing to a superficial conversation. anyone with an ounce of sense realizes that it means nothing, as anyone who says "love ya" and means it - only "love YOU" means anything.
