The " phantom " part comes from Lee Falk's the phantom comic strips - the Ghost who walks. the Phantom ghoster is a serial ghoster who will always get away with ghosting people no matter the reason.

When you ghost someone and you feel so bad for ghosting them because you're actually deep down a decent person, so you text them after 3 weeks and give them a late ass lame excuse on why you went MIA and why it won't work out.
Ghoster's Guilt can be defined as sending a message like, "Hey. Sorry that I've disappeared. I've been dealing with a lot of personal problems these past few weeks. You're so full of energy and a fun person to be around. I wish I could get to know you better but I don't think I have the emotional energy for it. It's not fair to you. I'm sorry. :(" to the person you ghosted for 3 weeks.
