Feature Fucked

When a computer application or hardware design feature has unintended or sometimes embarrassing consequences.

Getting Feature Fucked commonly occurs in word processing and email applications. For example you type a message that uses a misspelled version the word “incidentally” but the auto correct feature fixes it and it becomes “indecently”.

Very often this behavior occurs during important correspondences, such as with ones boss, can have undesirable consequences when the unintended word fits the sentence structure but drastically changes it meaning.

Can also occur in voice recognition applications. For example the scene in Wild Hogs where “Alternate Spec’s” is interpreted as “Alternate Sex”

Spell Fuck Feature

When the ‘auto correct’ messes up your sentences by replacing with words you don’t want, it now becomes the ‘spell fuck feature’ on your phone.

Auto correct changed my word from ‘fuck’ to ‘duck’. Stupid spell fuck feature on my iPhone.

double feature

The act of seeing two movies for the price of one at a public movie theater. You watch the first movie, take special notice of when the next movie will start, hang out in the restroom until the appropriate start time, and then mosey on over to the correct theater. It causes undue stress for only saving 10 bucks, but it can make an afternoon fly by.

So I was checking out a double feature the other day, but I was so nervous I hid out in the women's restroom! So much for not calling attention to myself

I went to see Hancock, but then it was over instead of leaving I decided to treat myself to a double freeture and snuck into watch Wall-E.

The most basic features of a product such as a video game where companies wouldn't want to implement for the most idiotic or unknown reasons, resorting to call them "legacy features".

Player: "Where is the scoreboard and VOIP for this shooting game that the franchise had for over 20 years!?" -
Dev: "Those are legacy features, son."
